Looks like the NIH is interested in doing some marijuana research based on a solicitation posted on their website. They are looking for someone with the capability of cultivating marijuana and plan on growing plants with altered THC and cannabidol (the medicinal component of marijana). For research, of course. Groovy! More info from Time.
Now that marijuana is legal in Uruguay, it is a blossoming country for research into marijuana genetics, usage, and medical efficacy. Hopefully this will continue to bolster scientific interest in South America. My Post about South American Science yesterday.
